My first reaction was, “I can’t let you go in public dressed like a clown.” Then, I remembered a piece of parenting advice I had received, “pick your battles”. Was this a battle I wanted to have each day, or could I learn to let this strong willed child take the wheel? I chose the latter, and can proudly say that my decision was correct. With weather appropriate guidelines, I allowed for my daughter to dress herself. Continue reading →
Motherhood, to do or not to do, that is the question. However in my case, it was more like; to cease and desist or keep on keepin on. How does one determine the right time, if ever, to close the factory? This can be a difficult decision to make, but for me it was easier than... Continue reading →
Every year we cause ourselves an abundance of anxiety and shame in setting “resolutions”. Here’s the thing, it’s a new year, but I’m in my 30’s, you’re not getting a new me. Take me or leave me, it doesn’t matter. This year I’m still my fabulous hot mess self. So here’s my list of realistic goals for 2019... Continue reading →
Growing up I was surrounded by incredible women. My parents had an amazing group of friends that were family to us. I always referred to them as aunts and uncles, not even realizing that we weren’t related at all. As a child, DNA meant nothing when it came to who family was. The crockpot is my best friend. As a new mom, it’s quite possible I would have starved without my crockpot. We all have our favorite recipes for the crockpot but what about those times you rush out of the house and forget to throw something in your best friend? Fear not Moms, I searched the internet and came across some quick, 30 minutes or Continue reading →
Over the past several years I have been involved in numerous charity events. Raising money for the Alzheimer’s Association, donation drives for displaced families from natural disasters, and even hosting exchange students from other countries. This charity event was founded by two women I went to high school with; one a make up artist, the other a hair stylist and owner of a salon in Loomis, Ca. These two beautiful souls came together four years ago Continue reading →
