I have had a love-hate relationship with my hair since I knew what a brush was. I was born with fine straight hair, but once puberty hit my hair started to curl. Twenty years later, I have fine textured ringlets that love to frizz. I used straightening tools and products to combat my mane, however, my hair never stayed straight for a full day. I attempted to find the right curling product for my hair to no avail. Most curly products are made for coarse, thick textured hair, and would just weigh down my fine locks. Bouncy curls were replaced with crunchy waves, and because of that, my hat collection grew.

Becoming a mother brought a new challenge to my appearance, not including the weight gain and stretch marks, but hair loss made its debut. I started to notice the temples first. Each “Mom bun” I rocked showed scalp stripes and smaller buns. Then, my stylist took the dreaded “before” picture during an afternoon appointment, which changed my perception of my hair. A very noticeable bald spot was forming at the top of my skull, where a ponytail would normally be. When I saw the picture posted on Instagram, I was mortified and couldn’t scroll past it fast enough. Just a few posts down, I noticed an advert for “miracle in hair care”.

My fault, is that I’m an eternal optimist. My optimism drives my husband crazy because, I’m the prime target for social media ads that claim to perform miracles. Curious, I browsed Cel’s Instagram feed. The products and marketing hit all the typical keywords; plant based, cruelty free, scientifically optimized etc. Instinctively, I pressed the order now button and confidently waited for my order to ship. The first time using the shampoo and conditioner I noticed the pleasant smell, the softness of my hair, and how very little product is needed. As instructed, I used the shampoo and conditioner combo three times a week for the first month. Within those first few weeks my hair began behaving like it never had before. When I straightened my hair, it stayed straight all day. When I left my natural curls to take canter stage, they were less frizzy, more manageable, and shiny. After about six weeks of use I went to my stylist for a trim. She gave me a bewildered look as she started to finger through my shiny soft hair.

“What shampoo and conditioner are you using?” She asked.

“It’s a brand I found on Instagram, called Cel-MD.” I responded.

My stylist was impressed. The last time my hair was this healthy was when I had luscious pregnancy hair. No split ends, no breakage, and new hair growth had become my new normal. I have been using Cel for a year now, and I will never go back to another hair product line again. I no longer straighten or have a love-hate relationship with my hair. I love my curls and wear them proudly. After a year of using Cel, I have enough new hair growth to cover the previous areas exposing my scalp. When washing my hair, I hardly use any product to possess gorgeous, frizz free curls, while also letting them air-dry. My hair has volume, shine, bounce, and my self-confidence has soared. I recommended Cel to all of my family and friends, as well as everyone that compliments my hair daily.
